Dorset Fire
We were first approached by Dorset Fire & Rescue Service in 2003 when they required a website that could be easily updated. They required a user friendly, secure environment, commonly known as a content management system . The flexibility of the CMS, meant the sections, sub-sections and pages grew very quickly and it wasn’t long before 1000+ pages containing valuable information to Dorset’s general public was published and retrievable at the click of a button. Testament to that system is that it remained Dorset Fires primary online marketing tool until it was redesigned, in 2009 some six years later.
As well as an up-to-date design, it now contains all number of facilities including feedback forms, questionnaires, advertising and recruitment campaigns, teaching aids, videos, language translation, text to audible speech and a station locator and has grown to contain almost 2000 pages.
One such advertising campaign, Dorset Fire’s Home Safety Check, required its own website and a concentrated effort within search engines and social media to match the offline radio and poster campaign. Dorset Web was approached and the “Invite Me Around” FREE Fire Crew Visit request website was born. Dorset’s residents could request the attendance of a fire crew to their homes in order to have a fire safety check.
Dorset Web’s provision and continued support of Dorset Fire’s online solutions, for almost 10 years positioned them perfectly when it came to search for a company to provide the Dorset Road Safe website. Dorset Fire, in partnership with local councils, other emergency services, and other organisations are working together to reduce the number of people killed and seriously injured on Dorset’s roads. Throughout 2010 and 2011, the partnership is delivering the “No Excuse” project, by cracking down on types of bad and careless driving and riding that causes crashes. Another CMS website caters for their every need and with 150+ pages has been visited and ranked by Google, this is one campaign drivers of Dorset can’t ignore.
The Dorset Fire Content Management System permits the addition of sections, sub-sections and pages without the need to contact Dorset Web. This enables huge amounts of important information to be uploaded, authorised and published by Dorset Fire’s own staff and then retrievable by Dorset’s public at the click of a button.
The site benefits from in excess of 250 first page appearances within the likes of Google, Ask, Bing, and Yahoo.
